David Scorca graduated from UC Santa Cruz in 2007, double majoring in Philosophy and Film Studies. Afterwards, he drove across the country to work on a farm in upstate New York, eventually spending the next five years navigating the NYC film industry. In New York, he cut his first feature, THE LOWER ANGELS, which premiered at the NYC Horror Film Festival in 2014. He obtained his M.F.A. in Editing in 2016 from the AFI Conservatory. Since graduating, he has cut ICE CREAM IN THE CUPBOARD, which won Best Narrative Feature at the Rhode Island Film Festival in 2019. He also edited THE BLOODHOUND, which premiered at the Octopus Film Festival and was distributed by Arrow Video. He worked as an assistant editor on the Oscar-nominated film BARDO by Alejandro González Iñárritu and has gone on to work as VFX Editor for acclaimed directors Lee Daniels and James L. Brooks.
